Monday's Mama Moments

Every moment last week spent with Kalyn,
watching her do her job so well,
worshiping with her,
eating meals with her,. . .

Hearing that my youngest son, who is a very gifted athlete,
and who has been a witness to his fellow athletes,
quit baseball (already quit football)

Hearing my oldest son's voice answer my husband's phone,
because they were together, on their way home from
a Ranger game

Seeing all three of our children, and our granddaughter,
with my husband, on Father's Day

III John 4
I have no greater joy than this, to know that my children are walking in the truth.

  1. Thank you so much for commenting on my son, JJ's story today! I so appreciate all the love and support I have gotten ever since I began telling the story. I had kind of kept it quiet for so many years because I just didn't know what was so different. Also, it's nice to know there are understanding people out there supporting me from afar, as my husband and I do not have a support circle within our two joined families. It's hard with not grandparens to really be present for us but God just keeps giving us exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. It's often tough, but God is always right there and has drawn our little family unit closer to each other because of this whole thing.

Do you ever work with kids who have sensory perception disorder? I can't seem to find many people who have a lot of knowledge on that... though I've read a few books, and JJ had an OT who gave us a path. Just sometimes it feels very hands off. Not sure how much sense that made...

Thanks again for your kind and thoughtful words!
    Bless you!

  2. Sasha,
Yes, I did work with a couple kids who had sensory perception disorder. I currently have part of my teaching materials in the garage of the rent house that we are living in here and part in the garage of the home we own (haven't put up for sale, yet). I did just recently see something that I have that may help you some. It may take me a little while, but I will look for it, and send it to you as soon as I find it. I will ask for your address when I find what I'm looking for. If I find anything on the internet to help you, I will let you know, too. I am sure that you have searched the internet a lot.
I am sad to hear that you don't have a support group there with you. You did say that you did get some help from school personnel, but then you made the decision to homeschool.
I know, God does always give us all just what we need, just when we need it. I will sincerely be keeping you all in my prayers, and want to keep up with you.

  3. Oh what a blessing you are! I am happy to send you my address when you are at that point. you can also email me at sashabrodeur@comcast.net anytime you find info that you want to pass on. Thank you so much!

We always thought that my parents would just love being really present grandparents, but I think the issues were just overwhelming and they took a very hands off approach to my children. It's been hard, but we are finding support in the neatest places and I know God is totally in control of it all.

We decided to homeschool mainly due to JJ's issues in the learning disorder dept. He has such poor fine motor skills and borderline processing ability that he would get really overwhelmed really quickly and that would lead to such school frustration. We were in a wonderful Christian school, but even still, it was not enough for him. As soon as I began homeschooling him, I could see a huge boost in his self esteem and it just seemed to work well for giving him that very specialized and individual time. He's actually doing so much better and loves to read now too.

Thanks again for your sweet comments. It's been so wonderful to "meet" you!!

    Blessings,
    Sash
