100th Post/Scripture Memory Monday/100 VERSES

For my 100th post, I am sharing just 100 of my favorite Bible verses. I think it's awesome that beginning with the scripture that I am currently working on memorizing, going back to the ones I began with in January, equals exactly 100, right at the time for this post! I hope that you will take the time to read the verses that have really spoken to me this year, and to share what your favorite is.

The passage that I have chosen to memorize, beginning September 1st, is

SUNDAY SONG

You are the way the truth and the light

We live by faith and not by sight ... for you

We're living all for you

One way Jesus

You're the only one that i could live for

PSALM SATURDAY. . .SATURDAY'S SAYINGS

Today is the day that I am having the high school girls from my family group at Falls Creek over for lunch, prayer, to choose between Me, Myself & Lies and His Girl for Bible study and choose a mission project.
My house is not clean, I have to go to Wal-mart, get back and cook chicken and cookies before they get here, and after we meet, I have a jillion other things to do, but. . .

(SATURDAY SAYINGS. . ."First things first.". . ."Be still.". . ."Priorities in order." )

All of the Psalms are so good. These are some of the ones that are speaking to me today.

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

Psalm 86:10-12
For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God.
Teach me Your way, O Lord,
and I will walk in Your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear Your name.
I will praise You, O Lord my God,
with all my heart;
I will glorify Your name forever.

Psalm 143:10
Teach me to do Your will,
for You are my God;
may Your good Spirit
lead me on level ground.

Psalm 119:66
Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in Your commands.

Collette at http://jesuslovesmums.blogspot.com started Psalm Saturday. She chose not to do a Psalm Saturday post today, but do go over to read her post today. It is very enlightening and still about learning how God wants us to raise our children.

Let me know what God is showing you currently, and if you have an opinion about the Bible studies that I mentioned, please let me know.
Have a Super Saturday with your family!

And don't forget to pray for your husband and marriage as you write your post.Add a link to your post to Mr. Linky. Today, I love that last night, a friend said, "Well, we are sure thrilled to have your husband here as our banker. It is just really getting hard to find Christians in the work world."
Again, I am also proud that he was chosen by the school system to be 1 of 30 parents in the state to be involved in the Gear Up Parent program.
Right now, I am lovin' that he is almost home from being gone for three days for the Gear Up training.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Today, my mind is thinking the same thankful thoughts that I had last week, for my husband, children, my job. I am always able to come up with more things that I am thankful for, and today, I do have 5 more to list.
My heart is very sad for Sonya, in the loss of her wonderful Dad, but also joyful that she has the peace that he is in heaven, and she will see him again.

Today, I am thankful for

1. my Mom, for the support she has always given me, and the love that she gives to all of our family.

2. my Dad, for the support he has always given me, and the love that he gives to all of our family.

3. that we live just 30 minutes away from my parents, and am able to be with them.

4. for the example of my parents' marriage.

5. for the full support from our youth minister, in a new ministry that I am going to be involved in with high school girls.

Please join Sonya and others at http://truth4thejourney.blogspot.com to share the things you are thankful for today.

Have a Terrific Thankful Thursday.

MONDAY'S MAMA MOMENTS. . .BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYERS

Today, has definitely been a Mama Moments Monday, and I was so glad to see the title on the LPM blog, "Back to School Prayers". http://livingproofministries.blogspot.com/
Josh began his second year as a teacher in the classroom today. He is at the same disrict, but in a different position, so in a way, it will be a first year again. I am praying for him. I trust that he is going to have a great year.
Kalyn left for college last Thursday. We went to take her a few things this weekend, and to be with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, after they moved my niece into the same college with Kalyn. We only got to see Kalyn for a few minutes on Saturday, and a few minutes on Sunday. She was stressed with a busy schedule. I am praying for her. I also trust that she is going to have a great year.
Jase has completed 8 days as a sophomore in high school. It is so different from this time last year. Instead of being in turmoil over the move, he is a Christian leader at his school.
Our nephew Caden, had his first day in middle school, in a new town, today. I am praying for him.
Our nephew Zachary, will have his first day of high school on Wednesday.
Melanie will have her first day of college classes on Wednesday.
Our nephew, Camden is in 1st grade.
I am so thankful for my new job, my students, and all of the staff that I work with. I am in contact with so very many students and families with special needs that I am praying for.
I may add more to this post later.
PLEASE, comment to let me pray for you and your children.

SUNDAY SONG

My post today is just going to be a list of titles of songs that I heard this morning, at the church where my brother is pastor.
The titles themselves spoke greatly to me, and went along with his clear message from God's Word about Workers in the Harvest, Matthew 9:35-38.
The songs titles:
Just a Closer Walk with Thee
Come, all Christians, Be Committed
Oh Lord, You're Beautiful
I'll Tell the World That I'm a Christian
I have to go to bed and get up in 5 hours.
Dear Lord,
I pray that I will be able to have my time with you in the morning, and get a few more things copied here at home for work, be kind to my husband and son before leaving for work, and then do my job in a way that will honor you.
Thank you, Lord for our blessings.
I pray that You will give me the rest that I need and equip me to do what You want me to do.
Please be with all of our family.
In Your Name I Pray

PSALM SATURDAY

Once again, time to join Collette @ http://jesuslovesmums.blogspot.com/ for Psalm Satruday.
Today, I am drawn back to Psalm 5. I had made verse 3 my commitment verse for this year. This past week, I did read my Bible but I didn't always slow down or get up early enough to take the time in the morning like I need to.
Psalm 5:3, 11-12NIV
In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
. . .
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy, Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; you surround them with Your favor as with a shield.

The acrostics above were written in the Fall of '83 for my Children's Literature college class after 1 year of marriage, and the picture is from the Spring of 1982, or the Fall of 1981. Everything that I wrote then is still why I love my husband today. . .I love him more than anything or anyone else, except our God, and I love that he is the wonderful spiritual leader of our family.

5. all of the children that I have taught in school and church. . . I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach each of the children that I have in class this year.

and I am so very thankful for the

TRUST that I have in my Lord. . .

along with Proverbs 3:5-6, I am praying the verses below for Kalyn as she has gone back to college.

Psalm 20:4, 7

May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

SCRIPTURE MEMORY MONDAY-LOVE IS. . .

I have read these verses all of my life, but I have not memorized them, like I should have. I need to remember these verses all day long, every day.

I Corinthians 13:4-7NIV

Love is patient,
love is kind,
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude;

it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.

Dear Lord,
Please help me always practice these verses, with the ones that I love the most, and with everyone that I come in contact with.

PSALM SATURDAY

For today, I have chosen several Psalms that go together for me, as a prayer for myself, to God to help me radiate His joy and love to others and to fulfill His purpose for me. So, I am going to list the references, and then put all of the verses together so that it will flow. They are still in the same order that they are in the Bible.

Psalms (NIV)

16:11; 19:8, 14; 40:8;51:10; 57:2

Dear Lord,

You have made known to me the path of life; You will will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving llight to the eyes.

May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. I desire to do your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart. Create in me a pure heart. O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. I cry out to God, Most High, to God, who fulfills His purpose for me.

I had already chosen the above when I read Deb's Psalm for today at http://onesingleminute.blogspot.com/, who is also joining Collete at http://jesuslovesmums.blogspot.com/ for Psalm Saturday.

Deb has written her Psalms as a a prayer for us, her blogging friends, so be sure to go over and read it.

Collette has chosen some beautiful Psalms about God's creation!

MONDAY'S MAMA MOMENTS

This week's "Monday's Mama Moments" are reflections on
"What a difference a year makes", no matter how old they are!

This time last year. . .

our oldest son was just beginning his first year of teaching and coaching,

our daughter was just beginning college, and

our youngest son, who had always been a very happy person, was very unhappy
about moving to a new, (big to him) high school.

This year,

Josh is continuing at the same school district, but is teaching at the middle school, instead of the intermediate, and he has passed more teaching tests and the bus driver test,

Kalyn absolutely loved the college she chose, and will now be a Tri-W:
Welcome Week Worker, to welcome her cousin and other freshmen, and she is very involved in other ways, too, and

Jase is very active in our church youth group, student council, football, basketball and baseball and likes the school very much.

I know I'm a day late, but would still like to hear your "Mama Moments" for this week.

SUNDAY SONG

FREE TO BE ME

Artist: Francesca Battistelli

At twenty years of age (forty six, and the song still fits!)

I'm still looking for a dream

A war's already waged for my destiny

But You've already won the battle

And You've got great plans for me

Though I can’t always see

(Chorus)‘Cause I got a couple dents in my fender

Got a couple rips in my jeans

Try to fit the pieces together

But perfection is my enemy

On my own I'm so clumsy

But on Your shoulders

I can see

I'm free to be me

When I was just a girl I thought I had it figured out

My life would turn out right, and I'd make it here somehow

But things don't always come that easy

And sometimes I would doubt

(Chorus)

And you’re free to be you

Sometimes I believe that I can do anything

Yet other times I think I've got nothing good to bring

But You look at my heart and You tell me That I've got all You seek

And it’s easy to believeEven though

(Chorus)

My card to Jeff today:

When I tell you "I love you,"

it means so much more than

just three little words.

it means that your happiness

is so important to me,

that I desire many blessings in life for you.

It means that I always want

to be there for you,

no matter what happens.

It means that I would rather be with you

than anyone else in the world.

It means that you're not only

my partner in life,

but also my bery best friend.

The longer we love,

the more "I love you" means.

It means that

On Our 27th Anniversary

Loving My Husband Friday is for taking the time to focus on the positives of marriage. A time to build up your marriage and your spouse. Focus on something you love about your husband, something he did to encourage you this week, or just a tip on how to keep your marriage strong. Let your husband know you're bragging on him...everyone loves praise and accolades. Try to spend the rest of your week focusing on all the great traits of your spouse...especially when your tempted to focus on the bad! And don't forget to pray for your husband and marriage as you write your post.Add a link to your post to Mr. Linky. Then pray for the marriages of the others who post, and give each other a little encouragement to keep our marriages strong!Link up at http://mominin-thepeerreview.blogspot.com/

THANKFUL THURSDAY. . .JOY!

Iris's theme for Thankful Thursday this week is JOY. I have heard before that the difference in happiness and joy is that
"Happiness depends on your circumstances and Joy comes from God."
Iris quotes John Piper, saying that "Joy is in your bones."
Even though I hope you'll go over to Iris' blog, after reading this, or you came to me from her blog, I want to share the same scripture that she shared. I read this scripture just recently and thought about and prayed for those I know who are going through very difficult times in hospitals.

"May the God of hope fill you with all Joy and peace in believeing , so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope."

Romans 15:13 ESV

Today, I am thankful for the JOY of

1. being in God's word and listening to Him speak to me.

fulfilling His purpose for me, as a

2. Wife

3. Mom, Mom-n-law, Gramma

4. Daughter, Family member, neighbor, friend

5. Teacher

Please join me and Sonya at http://www.truth4thejourney.blogspot.com/

and Iris at http://www.eph2810.com/

to share the 5 things that you are thankful for bringing you joy today.

IN HIS WORD WEDNESDAY--BE IN HIS WORD!

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND. Then you will be able to test and approve what GOD'S WILL is--His good, pleasing and perfect will.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just come from listening to my 16 year old (really mature beyond his years) son share God's word with the youth group that he is a part of. He did a wonderful job. (I know, I'm his mom, but I know he did do a wonderful job of sharing what God layed on his heart to share.) He shared several scripture from all over the Bible to make his point that we are to live a life for God that will show the world that we are Christ followers.
Jase showed a video of a pastor and another man who was portraying God "chiseling" away at the man to take away the negative things in his life to make him more like Christ. It reminded me of my visit to the dentist today. My dentist is a very nice Christian man, and was very apologetic to me that he didn't get me numb enough. It was painful today, as he had to chisel away at the caps he was putting on my teeth. Sometimes, the work that God has to do on us can be painful, but the finished product is His Masterpiece!
Please share with me how God is speaking to you through His word.
and all the others who have linked up with her, for more encouragement from His word.

100 Things that I Think I should do Today TUESDAY

100 things-in honor of Erin's 100th post

at Closing Time http://www.herewegomoms.com/

Even though I do know that I am wonderfully made by God for a purpose, and I have just completed cleaning out my "thought closet", (Jennifer Rothschild's Me, Myself and Lies Bible study), I do not want to list 100 things about myself.

This is what I feel the need to do today, (or maybe tomorrow?) beginning in order, but probably not staying exactly in order, because that's the way I am,
wanting to be organized,. . .but not exactly in order, yet.
It may be 100, maybe not, let's see! I feel like it is 100 things that I have to do, with them all swimming around in my head, so I do need to make this list.

1. Wake up,
2. get out of bed,
3. and kiss my husband before he left for work at 6:30 a.m.
4. Brush my teeth.
5. Spend time in prayer and in God's Word.
6. Cook breakfast and eat with my son.
7. Watch Beth Moore's video/blog for our last summer Bible study gathering.
8. Read Shelli's Hopefully Devoted post for our blog group for the above study.
9. Do the final interactive assignments on the Hopefully Devoted blog.
10. Be available for my son.
11. Take him to the school for workout.
12. Make this list.
13. Call Animal Control.
14. Call the dentist office to confirm tomorrow's appointment.
15. Pick my son up from the school.
16. Take my son to the church.
17. Pick my son up from the church.
18, Chill!
19. Pray!
20 Work in my classroom.
21. Get my hair highlighted and cut.
22. Pick my son up from my parents' house. (They met me at the beauty shop.)
23. Make myself something for lunch.
24. Eat lunch.
25. Go to our house in Texas to work a very little bit, borrowing my parents' pick-up. (which means I got my
hair sweaty before getting to show it to my husband)
26. Make decisions about throwing things away.
27. Throw some things away.
28. Drive back to my parents' house to return the pick-up, that we didn't load
anything in.
29. Drive back to our home in Oklahoma.
30. Call my husband.
31. "Freshen up" for my husband.
32. Cook supper.
33. Sit down, pray and eat, and enjoy my family's company.
34. Brush my teeth.

36Call another eye dr. to make an appt. for my son.
37 Help my daughter with paper work for scholarship renewal.
38. Help my daughter with anything that she can use my help with.
39. Shop with my daughter.
40. Take a form by the high school for signature and mail off, for my son.
41. Put a book that I need to return to a friend in an envelope and mail it.
42. Chill!
43 Pray!
44 Read my Bible again.
45 Laundry was done somewhere way up there.
46 Fold and put away the laundry.
47 Laundry will need to be done again.
48 Spend time with my family walking. . .
49. watch a movie,
50play a game

51. Pray with both. . .they're not children, but we still pray with them.
52 Get ready for bed.
53 Brush my teeth.
54 Sleep
55. Finish this list and link it while it's still today!'
Okay, that is just 55. If you are still reading this, I know there are at least 45 things that I need to do in my classroom, but
I won't bore you with them.
I hope you will come back to visit my blog and introduce yourself.
I know that we all often think, "So much to do and so little time!"
I do need to make myself make lists. Of course, I did list routine things that I wouldn't write on a list.
Even though we have a lot to do, we need to always remember:

Matthew 6:33

But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
