SPIRITUAL SUNDAY. . .Our Weakness, His Strength

I don't know where to start, but I will try. God is using so many people, situations, devotions and scripture to speak to my heart.
I am going through a health issue that is making my flesh very tired and weak.
Friday's JOURNEY devotion was truly perfect for me.
I am learning how to be secure in God's love. I am meditating on hundreds of scripture verses that tell us about God's strength, power and victory. . .
and then I am hit with something at work that can make me feel very insecure.
Today, just before my daughter arrives, I am spending solitude time in her room, "doing Chapter 9" of Beth Moore's book, So Long, Insecurity,
A Time and Place to Heal (a personal prayer time).

Okay, now to choose my top 5 scripture passages out of about 600 that tell us about the Lord's Strength, Power and Victory.

Psalm 73:26NIV
My flesh and my heart may fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

I John 4:3-4NIV
This is love for God; to obey his commands, and his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Isaiah 40:28-31NIV
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 41:10NIV
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Proverbs 31:25NIV
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

Kalyn is home, now! Yay!

  5. Thank you for sharing these powerful Scriptures. Glory be to God that we have His mighty weapons to use. He is our Shield, our Refuge.

    May the Lord guide you, protect you, provide healing and comfort to those areas in your life needing it. "Be strong in the Lord's mighty power." -Ephesians 6:10

  6. Blessings Sandy...Such encouraging, lifting, power filled verses from God's Word...each of the five. I agree it's difficult to select. I believe that it is you that have done the better job because you are testifying of the victory and the healing and believing for that from these scriptures. A testimony is always better than just expanding on one, but the two go nicely hand in hand...do you think God had this planned! I will pray that verse in prayer for you as you add the other 4 and personalize His promise to you for your health. Be strong (and courageous)in the power of His Word and He will restore your health as you seek His wisdom and healing! ...and yeahhh your daughter's home just in time. Praise God and enJOY your time together and with the Lord in a Spiritual Sunday of rest!
    Then get energized by His power bar of His WORD
    on the tablet of your heart! Thanks for your encouraging words.

  10. Sandy,

    I, too, have been hit with health issues. And they are causing me to have to truly slow down and rest. Been in this zone for about 18 months now and so memorizing scripture with many of the Siesta's in '09, was such a huge blessing to me.

    Cling to Him precious friend! He and I love you so.
