Let Love be your highest goal. I Corinthians 14:1

Deuteronomy 6:5-9NIV
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home nad when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and your gates.

Matthew 22:36-39 AND Mark 12:29-31
"Which is the most important command?" Jesus replied,
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself." Matthew 22:36-39

  1. Great post, Sandy! It's funny how people never catch the part about loving ourselves. I think about it often when helping others in my work. Low self-esteem issues are so prevalent. "... as you love yourself" doesn't mean we should become arrogant or highfalutin. It means we should love ourselves because Jesus loves us.

Thank you for sharing this with us. God bless!

  2. I love this scripture. I like what Georgia said about the post. If we love our neighbor as ourself, it follows we should love ourself (selves?) I'm glad you went ahead and linked to Spiritual Sundays. Sometimes people link even later in the week. We leave the Mr. Linky up until the new one is ready.
    Have a wonderful week.
