Scripture Memory Monday, because our church began 40 Days of Love last night, so I guess I will be trying to work on at least one simple verse every week, now.
The main verse for this week is:
I Corinthians 16:14
NLT
"Everything you do must be done with love."
NIV
"Do everything in love."
I repeated that verse with my pastor last night, then wrote it out this morning, prayed it, and meditated on it all day, and thought about it as I tried to teach, tried to reach my hard to reach students.
Following is the lyrics to a song that was sung at the church service last night,
"WHAT MATTERS MOST"
Filling this verse with superlative words
Making the most clever rhymes
Wouldn't amount to much
Just wouldn't count for much
If you can't read between lines
But I have discovered
I've finally uncovered
A most significant thing
It's a noble theme
What matters most
Is how much we love
What matters most
Is how much we give
What would it matter
If we just lived
Without loving our God
Without loving each other
Faith, hope and love, especially love
That's what matters most
What matters most
Once just a girl
In a curious world
Learning the meaning of life
Tell me what is the reason
And why do the seasons keep turning
The pages of time
I had to discover the things from above
For the days turn so quickly to years
Then they disappear
Not money, not power not fame or position
Don't want it, don't need it
don't give me religion
All I wanna hear All I wanna see All I wanna read about is
All I wanna live
All I wanna know
All I wanna be about is Love,
what matters most
Givin' love, what matters most
What matters most
Is how much we love
What matters most
Is how much we give
What would it matter if we just lived
Without loving our God
Without loving each other
What matters most is
How much we love
Setting our sights
On the needs of our brother
Loving our neighbor as we love ourselves
We give to the Lord
When we give to each other
Faith, hope and love, especially love
Faith, hope and love, especially love
That's what matters most
What matters most
God's love for us is just so amazing. If we just let it overflow from our hearts to others, it is so amazing what LOVE can do!
I have really enjoyed our Oklahoma weather this past week. Last week was beautiful Spring weather, then on Saturday, the "First Day of Spring", God gave us a beautiful snow again! Then today, it is "beautiful Spring" again! Just so incredible the change from yesterday to today, but both days were beautiful pictures, the snow and the flowers!

ReplyDeleteGood morning Sandy!
ReplyDeleteI do follow your blog.
I blog as well and this came about because I was already writing Higher Grounds due to God's prompting, for about a year. Then my husband is the one that came to me after so many women were encouraging me to place the writings in a book, similiar to a devotional. My husband came to me asking me to start a blog and allow those in the world to read what God was placing on my heart.
This week I am memorizing Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Love to you,
Yolanda
