SPIRITUAL SUNDAY. . .the Strength of the Lord

The Strength of Lord DOES make a Big Difference!

My grown up daughter had a broken heart at the beginning of this week, and wanted to come home, but had to stay at college to fulfill obligations. She is home now for the weekend, and is still hurting, but has already grown just in this past week, and is becoming stronger all the time, just through her relationship with her Lord.

She lives her life for God.

Psalm 73:26NIV

My flesh and my heart may fail,

but God

is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord,

be strong and take heart

and wait for the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9NIV

But He said to me,

"My grace is sufficient for you,

for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Proverbs 31:25NIV

She is clothed with

strength and dignity;

She can laugh at the days to come.

Psalm 30:11NIV

The Lord gives strength to His people,

the Lord blesses His people with PEACE.

  1. I remember a time when I was your daughter's age. The first thing I wanted to do was go home to mommy. Home was a safe place, where I knew I was loved. But, I, too worked through my problem by staying the course. Aren't you proud of her?
What a blessing it is for you to see her live out her faith in this manner!

  3. Reading your post brought back memories of when our daughter was in college and encountered some hurtful times. She came home for the summer and just as she began to heal it was time to go back. She did return and in the end was glad that she went back. Sorry to hear of your daughter's hurt.

  4. It is always so sad to deal with a broken heart, especially when that precious heart belongs to your daughter. I think every mother goes through this at some point in time. I'm glad she is seeking comfort in the Lord. That is where real comfort is to be found. Blessings to you both.

P.S. There was some problem with the link on S.S. It didn't bring me here when I clicked on it. I fixed it. I don't know exactly what the problem was but it seems to work OK now.

  6. Bless her heart!
I remember a few times when my daughter was away at college about an hour away and needed her momma.
I pray your daughter is doing better and will be keeping her in my prayers in the following weeks as she finishes the semester.

  7. I never had a daughter so I can't identify with you there. But I do remember those days myself, and I remember the days when my sons also had their hearts broken. It's no fun for a young woman or a young man. But thanks be to God for His incredible love and peace for us. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week ahead.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
