Scripture, Thoughts and Prayer for Today. . .Love is NOT irritable.

Today's Suunday School lesson from Fireproofing Your Marriage/The Love Dare;
Love is Not irritable was right on time for me. The teacher mentioned several verses,,and then when I started studying for myself this afternoon, I almost couldn't stop finding verses that related to not being irritable for others to live with.

One verse that I found, I have read many times before, but I did not know that the same exact verse is in the Proverbs twice so close toghether:

Proverbs 21:19 and 25:24 both say:
Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.

I do not want my husband to think of me when we reads that verse.

PROVERBS
3:1-8
My son (daughter) do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tab let of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name; in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

10:12
Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all wrongs.

12:4
A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

13:3
He who guards his lips, guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

15:23
A man finds joy in giving an apt reply-and how good is a timely word.

15:30
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

16:32 NIV
Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who commands his tongue than one who takes a city.

16:32 NKJV
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
And hw who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

17:1
Better a dry crust with peace and quiet, than a house full of feasting with strife.

17:14
Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute begins.

18:13
He who answers before listening--that is his folly and his shame.

24:3-4
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

25:11-12
A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is a wise man's rebuke to a listening ear.

25:15
Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.

27:13-16
A quarrelsome wife is like a constant driipping on a rainy day;
restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand.

27:17
As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.

29:20
Do you see a man (woman) who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for him. (her)

30:33
For as churning the milk produces butter and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.

31:10-12
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm all the days of her life.

31:26-27
She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her househould and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Matthew 6:31-33 (see 25-34)
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows tht you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Philippians 2:5
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus;

Ephesians 4:31-32
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 5:20-24
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Wives, submit to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church, his body of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Dear Jesus, I Praise you for being my God, my heavenly father.
I do repent with all my heart. I do not know when I began having the wrong tone of voice and dirty looks. I have been working on trying to improve in this area all of the over 26 years of my married life.
I acknowledge that You are here to help me.
Dear Lord, I thank you so much for blessing me with Jeff as my husband and Dad of our children. Please be with him right now as he is mowing our very thick grass, and please help him to forgive me and know how much I sincerely want to treat him with the love that he deserves.
Dear Lord, I pray for myself. I have come to you so many times with this issue, and then go right back to snapping and glaring. Please Lord, clothe me with your compassion and kindness, daily.
Please equip me to be the wife and mom that you want me to be, and a witness for you.

Thank you so much for church, Sunday school classes, Your word. . .
Thank you for your love.
In Your Name I Pray,
Amen

Scriptures and Prayer for Today

In repentance and rest is your salvation;
in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15

"Call upon Me and I will answer you
and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
Jeremiah 33:3
(There are some things that we won't understand until we
reach God in heaven, but there are some things, that if we
just ask him and search His word and be alert to His voice,
He will teach us.)

Then Jesus took the children in his arms,
put his hands on them,
and blessed them.
Mark 10:15
(Of course, this verse is talking about when
Jesus was on Earth, but I believe that it is
also talking about each time that He receives
a "child" in heaven. . .any of His children, including
adults, but especially the precious babies who go
to heaven as actual babies.)

We, Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, will thank You forever;
we will declare Your praise to generation after generation.
Psalm 79:13

Dear Heavenly Father,
I praise You with all my heart for how you are working in my life, and the lives of each of my family members.
I repent of not rising early enough this morning to have my time with you. I thank you for the repentence that I have seen from another person dear to me.
I acknowledge that You are in control of all things. I acknowledge how much You have blessed me.
Dear Lord,
My heart is still aching for a co-worker and his wife, who lost a baby. I thank you that the painful labor finally came to an end. I pray that You will continue to comfort them.
Dear Lord, I pray for my brother, Charley and his wife, Angela who are going through the process to adopt a baby girl, who they have already named Mercy Marie. I pray that you will help them to go through the steps of that process, and I pray for that little baby, wherever she is right now. I know that You already know all about her. I pray for their 6 year old son, Camden. I thank you so much that we will have Camden in our home this weekend. I pray that we can be a blessing to him, as I know he will be to us.
Dear Lord, I thank you for Jase and how greatly You are working in his life right now. I pray that you will please help me to be able to communicate with him, and that you will equip me to be the Mom that Jase needs.
Dear Lord, I thank you for Kalyn and pray for her, and every single thing that she has going on in her busy college life.
I pray for Josh, Adrianne and Madasyn. I pray that you will bless them with special time together this weekend, and that you will be with them all the time. I thank You for keeping them same last night, when tornadoes were in their area.
I thank you so much for mine and Jeff's marriage, and I thank you for each of the children you blessed us with. I pray for Jeff in everything that he does at work and at home. I thank you for the very wonderful husband and dad that he is. I pray that you will equip me to be the wife that Jeff needs.
Thank You, Lord, for your presence in my life.
Amen

Scriptures and Prayers for Today

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Oh, give thanks to the Lord!

Call upon His name.

Make known His deeds among the peoples. I Chronicles 16:8/Psalm 105:1

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Dear Heavenly Father,

I praise You for Your awesome presence.

I repent of my sin of using the wrong tone of voice, often.

I acknowledge that You are helping me in that area and in all areas of my life.

(intercession)-You know that I have been in constant prayer to you today. I thank you for my beautiful neice, Melanie, who turned 18 today. I know that you have very special plans for her life. I pray for her today, that she will continue to feel well, and that she will have a great day.

I have been praying for my daughter, Kalyn, who had a test at noon today, and who has had a lot of homework. I just pray that you will continue to give her a calm spirit and focus. I thank you so much for Kalyn and all that You have done in her life.

I am praying for my son, Jase who has been working hard on a big project about Billy Graham, and I am praying for him as he has his Super Summer interview tonight. I thank you for how you are working in his life.

I pray for Josh, Adrianne and Madasyn, that you will continue to bless them and meet their needs. I pray that you will help Josh as he studies for upcoming Texas teacher tests. I pray for him as he teaches, coaches, and is a husband and dad, that you will just continue to help him always do his best.

I pray for Jeff, that you will help him to feel better. I thank you so much for the wonderful husband and dad that he is.

I pray for Jeff's mom, Dee, as he finishes her second round radiation on her feet on Friday. I pray that you will just help her to stay off her feet and to heal. I thank you for the blessing that Dee is to our family.

Today, I am continuing to pray for Jill and Jo Rodgers. At noon today, Jill still hadn't been able to deliver their still born baby, and the doctor was scheduled to come in at that time. I don't know how to pray for them, but I am lifting them up to God.

(supplication) I pray for myself. I pray that you will help me to focus on what you want me to focus on at this time. I thank you for the opportunity to begin teaching children at church tonight.

(equipping) I pray that you will equip me to teach Your word to these children tonight in the way that you want me to. I pray that you will help me right now, as I continue to prepare. I also pray that you will continue to equip me to be the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, friend, personal aide that I can be. I pray for you to "let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."

All these things I pray in Jesus' Name,

Amen

Beginning to Blog

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I have always wanted to write, and my husband has encouraged me to, but I haven't had the patience or courage to stay with it. I have been blessed by reading blogs. I have been hesitant to blog. I don't want to write anything that would embarass any of my family members or anything that would come across in a wrong way to anyone. To begin with, I just want to have a place on the computer to record the scripture that I am trying to memorize this year with Beth Moore's challenge, and to record prayers that I am praying.

My Life Scriptures:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understand; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

and

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. I Thes. 4:11-12

2009 Commitment Verse

My voice you shall hear in the morning, O Lord. In the morning, I will direct it to you and I will look up. Psalm 5:3

January 2009

Rejoice in the Lord always and again, I say Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men, The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethern, whatever things are true;
whatever things are noble; whatever things are just; whatever things are pure;
whatever things are lovely; whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is anyting praiseworthy-meditate ont hese things.
The things which you have learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:4-9, 13

February 1

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

February 15

Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors, through Him, who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thins shall seperate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

March 4

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is in your with meekness and fear; I Peter 3:15

March 15

Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1

(The Lord gave me the above verse on the 15th, and then I began "40 days of Prayer for my Husband" on the 16th of March, 2009.)

I already have my verses for April, because I am beginning to teach 4th-6th grade children at church tomorrow night, and the scripture that will be their lessons seemed very appropriate for me, too.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name, make known His deeds among the peoples!
I Chronicles 16:8 and Psalm 105:1

Listen to this, O Job (Sandy). Stand still, and consider the wondrous words of God. Job 37:14

My Prayer Today

As always, I am very thankful for all of the family that God has blessed me with and praying for each one of them specifically.

Today, I am also praying for a teacher that I work with and his wife, and their little girl in this time of their loss. I am especially praying for his wife, Jill right now, as she has been in labor for 24 hours, to deliver their still born baby. My sister-in-law had to go through this last February 15. My heart goes out to Jo and Jill right now.
