SIMPLE PLEASURES THURSDAY is the place and time to slow down and think about the special, simple thing that is giving you pleasure. It's been a while since I've been able to join the Thursday blog party, or even blog at all. I have less than 2 hours before returning to the church for V.B.S. Family Night, but I wanted to get this post in today. Today, and for the next few Thursdays, Dayle is asking us to share our "Summer" Simple Pleasures. Well, that certainly fit what I was thinking about today!
I don't have any pictures to share of precious children or the awesome decorations. I just want to share that it was a simple Summertime pleasure in my life to go to different Vacation Bible Schools in our town, and. . .it is a simple pleasure to be a part of teaching children about Jesus' love for them.
I wasn't crazy about the theme for this year, The Big Apple Adventure. . .at first.
I have very much enjoyed the "Connecting with Faith, Love, Trust, Others, and Life" part of the theme, and also the New York City part, too. It was just now, when I was looking for the picture to go with this post, that I read that the theme was chosen in honor of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.
I hope that you will click on the words above, Simple Pleasures Thursdays, to join Dayle's party and also leave me a comment. I also pray that you are enjoying your Summer!

We're hosting VBS this week, too, at our Church. It's a morning adventure to Hometown Nazareth, Where Jesus was a Kid; teaching the little ones what it was like in Jerusalem as a child and the different things that Jesus experienced at their age.
ReplyDeleteFun, fun...and exhausting, all together :)
We did the Big Apple Adventure at my church this year, too. I didn't work it this year, but my daughter did my usual job of missions, and I got to hear and see it through her eyes. It was a great theme this year!
ReplyDeleteA sweet simple pleasure, Sandy. I still have a little yellow popsicle birdhouse my precious daughter made me in VBS years ago. It makes an appearance every spring.
ReplyDeleteSandy,
ReplyDeleteWe did our VBS last week and I always volunteer in the kitchen to make the jobs of the teachers and aids a little easier. Love seeing the little ones come to learn about Jesus. Wonderful Simple Summer Pleasure.
