SIMPLE SUMMER PLEASURE. . .V.B.S.!

SIMPLE PLEASURES THURSDAY is the place and time to slow down and think about the special, simple thing that is giving you pleasure. It's been a while since I've been able to join the Thursday blog party, or even blog at all. I have less than 2 hours before returning to the church for V.B.S. Family Night, but I wanted to get this post in today. Today, and for the next few Thursdays, Dayle is asking us to share our "Summer" Simple Pleasures. Well, that certainly fit what I was thinking about today!

I don't have any pictures to share of precious children or the awesome decorations. I just want to share that it was a simple Summertime pleasure in my life to go to different Vacation Bible Schools in our town, and. . .it is a simple pleasure to be a part of teaching children about Jesus' love for them.

I wasn't crazy about the theme for this year, The Big Apple Adventure. . .at first.

I have very much enjoyed the "Connecting with Faith, Love, Trust, Others, and Life" part of the theme, and also the New York City part, too. It was just now, when I was looking for the picture to go with this post, that I read that the theme was chosen in honor of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.

I hope that you will click on the words above, Simple Pleasures Thursdays, to join Dayle's party and also leave me a comment. I also pray that you are enjoying your Summer!

June 15, 2011 SCRIPTURE MEMORY

For we are God’s workmanship,

created in Christ Jesus,

to do good works,

which God prepared

in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10NIV

Memorizing scripture this year

has gotten me through a rough time of

grieving over the loss of my Dad

and struggling with my brother.

Things are getting a lot better, now.

I would love for you to share the scripture that God is using in your life.

June 1, 2011 SCRIPTURE MEMORY

"Therefore, if you are offering your gift

at the altar and there remember

that your brother has something against you,

leave your gift there in front of the altar.

First, go and be reconciled to your brother;

then come and offer your gift."

Matthew 5:23-24

I hope you will share your scripture with me, and I pray you are having a blessed Summer day!
